The Freeze

This morning we woke up to the power out, and trees falling! The ice has frozen over so much off dads trees that branches and whole trees are falling down. Some on top of the fence too! But, in the meantime, there isn't much we can do except watch and listen. Here are a few pictures from this morning.
The grass was ALL ice!
The Maple tree had over 1/2 and inch of ice.

Snow, lights, so ready for Christmas!

We have had bunches of snow and ice this last week. Well, tonight getting Caitlyn I was able to see Jenni & Bill's house with the lights and snow at once! It was so Christmas like!

Santa

Caitlyn knew that I was Santa's helper elf for our Christmas party at the coast with the restaurant and the office. She helped me pick out the presents and wrap them. She was getting one of them, but had no idea. I didn't mention to her that one was for her (tho I knew it was a great choice because she wouldnt' stop playing with it!). So, when it came time for Santa to hand out presents, and they called her name, she said "No, they aren't for me." It took her a bit to be convinced to go sit on Santa's lap and get her present and then was soooo excited to see it wasthe unicorn stuffed animal on a leash that she couldn't stop playing with!

Snowman!

Snow came at Grandma and Grandpas house, so a snowman was born! Grandpa got out there and helped (did most the work) build a snowman. Caitlyn had so much fun.

Birthdays

I didn't take many pictures at our birthday dinner for Mom, Leah (and I included grandma Dottie - Dec 28). Caitlyn painted a watering can/pitcher for Leah for her bday and added a few bright flower patches to it as well - maybe Leah will post a picture of it! I forgot to take one! As Caitlyn and I were working on the watering pitcher, I decided it was taking so long for her to do that project, I was doing the second project: a new broom for grandma. Her old corn broom was looking pretty worn out, so I saw one at the Saturday Market Christmas bazaar I went to and thought - oh, what a great idea! Cait and I can do that! Someone had painted with bright colors the entire handle of brooms, toilet brushes, anything with handles. So I decided grandma was going to get a hand made one from Cait and I. I did most the work - it was time consuming painting all those little designs! Cait did add a few details to it.
We also made beniegts for after dinner as well - they were a hit, like always!
